Our Appreciation to Seppo Peuhkurinen
The luncheon featured of number of speakers who recognized Seppo’s contributions to HPAO both at the Toronto and Provincial level. The speakers spoke fondly of Seppo as the leader and mentor of the association as he retires as President of Toronto district.
It was noted that for 20 years including some 15 years as President, Seppo worked tirelessly to serve pensioners and to help look after their interests and of their surviving spouses. We all recognize the effort required in dealing with financial matters and providing for social activities for our members. Seppo certainly met these challenges head on and let us not forget his able partner Linda who also was so involved with activities for our members.
We raise a toast to Seppo and Linda

Our New President as of January 01 2024
With Seppo’s retirement, the Board has accepted Julia Lindsay’s offer to lead us into the future.
An appeal was made asking other pensioners to step forward and volunteer to serve. Many hands make work lighter.

Gypsy – Shaw Festival Thursday September 7 2023
Some 40 members enjoyed a beautiful trip to Niagara on the Lake. We had a delicious meal at Betty’s restaurant in Niagara Falls where we celebrated the birthdays of three of our members. After lunch we were entertained by the musical Gypsy.

Little Shop of Horrors – Port Hope – Tuesday, August 15, 2023
As the tour bus arrived early, there was ample time to explore Port Hope
Lunch at Railside Restaurant was well received as the staff were so obliging. Although we were early, they served us a very leisurely luncheon.
Little Shop of Horrors is a crazy, campy, dark musical comedy. The performances were great; enthusiastic and engaged, and the audience gave a standing ovation at the end.
