Purpose

Hydro Pensioners Association of Ontario (HPAO) – Toronto District is an association of pensioners from Ontario Hydro and four of its successor companies Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Hydro One, Independent Electrical System Operator (IESO) and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).

It arranges social activities such as theatre trips, luncheons and golf events. It is governed by a constitution and a volunteer board of directors.

HPAO-Toronto District is a member of the Provincial organization which consists of Hydro pensioners across the Province.

Membership

Membership in the Toronto District will be available to Pensioners and Partners of deceased Pensioners of the former Ontario Hydro and Successor Companies. Members normally reside within the GTA . Executive may approve membership for other pensioners at its discretion. A onetime membership fee may be levied for these members.

Associate Membership

At the discretion of each District, spouses of Pensioners may be included in the membership of the District as “Associate Members”. However, their names will not appear on the computer printouts received from the Companies and Districts will not receive a per capita payment for Associate Members. The District may collect both, the amount of the per capita payment and a membership fee from Associate Members if they so desire.
Districts may accept other pensioners as Associate Members at their discretion where the District’s executive deem that it would benefit the District; amount of these membership fees also to be determined by the District.

How to join

Pensioners of one of Ontario Hydro’s successor companies OPG, Hydro One, IESO, and ESA are able to join. Additionally, partners or guests of an eligible pensioner are also able to join. Complete details are on the membership form.
